Hand-Painted Blue & White Linglong Porcelain Gongfu Tea Cups are crafted using time-honored ceramic techniques from Jingdezhen, China’s historic porcelain capital. With over 1,700 years of ceramic heritage, Jingdezhen is renowned for producing the finest porcelain in the world. Linglong (rice-grain) porcelain, first developed during the Ming Dynasty, is one of its most celebrated styles, featuring delicately carved translucent patterns that are later filled with glaze and high-fired for a luminous, light-filtering effect once reserved for imperial use.

Each cup is hand-painted with traditional underglaze blue-and-white lotus motifs, an enduring Chinese art form valued for both beauty and safety. The designs are applied before glazing and fired at temperatures above 1300°C, permanently sealing the artwork beneath a smooth, protective glass layer. This ensures the patterns remain vivid and resistant to fading, chipping, or flavor absorption over time. Subtle variations in brushwork make every piece uniquely handcrafted.

Designed for the gongfu tea experience, the cup features an elegant bell shape that sits comfortably in the palm. The linglong cut-outs glow softly when held to light, creating a serene visual effect that enhances each tea moment. Dimensions are approximately 2.4 inches in mouth diameter and 1.9 inches in height, with a capacity of about 1.7 oz—ideal for oolong, pu-erh, white, and other fine whole-leaf teas.
