Frequently Asked Questions

I. Philosophy & The Sensory Experience

What defines "Refined Stillness"? Refined Stillness is the soul of the Teavra ritual—the intentional transition from the chaotic to the composed. We believe tea is a boundary between constant motion and conscious presence; a sensory anchor that invites you back to center.

What makes a Teavra harvest "Rare"? We specialize in Gushu (Ancient Tree) harvests from the biodiverse highlands of Yunnan. These trees, aged between 100 and 1,000 years, reach deep into mineral-rich earth. This produces a complexity, mouthfeel, and Cha Qi (vital energy) that young plantation teas simply cannot replicate.

What is "Cha Qi" and how is it felt? Cha Qi is the "breath" or living energy of the tea. In our ancient harvests, this is often experienced as a gentle internal warmth, heightened mental clarity, or a profound physical relaxation. It is the stillness of the mountain, felt within the body.

II. Purity, Integrity & Stewardship

How do you ensure botanical purity? Luxury is meaningless without integrity. Every Teavra harvest undergoes our Purity Protocol: rigorous multi-stage testing in certified facilities to ensure it is 100% free from pesticides, heavy metals, and contaminants. We are among the select few ateliers maintaining direct FDA-certified oversight for our collections.

Is Teavra tea organic? While our partner artisans follow ancestral, chemical-free viticulture, many heritage micro-farms do not hold western "organic" labels. We bridge this through independent laboratory testing, guaranteeing purity that meets or exceeds the highest international safety standards.

What is the "Legacy of Stewardship"? We operate with a deep reverence for the earth. This includes plastic-free packaging, compostable tea sachets, and direct-trade partnerships that ensure fair, sustainable wages for the artisan families guarding Yunnan’s ancient groves.

III. The Art of the Brew

Why are Teavra tasting cups so small? In the Gongfu tradition, small vessels allow the tea to cool precisely and encourage a mindful, appreciative pace. It transforms "drinking" into "tasting," allowing the fragrance and the Hui Gan (lingering sweetness) to take center stage.

Why is water temperature critical? Tea leaves are delicate botanical structures. Boiling water can "scorch" White or Green teas, releasing bitter tannins. We provide specific temperature guides for every vintage to ensure you extract the soul of the leaf without compromising its refinement.

Can I use the same teapot for different tea varieties? Non-porous vessels like glass or porcelain are versatile. However, if using an Yixing Zisha pot, we recommend dedicating it to a single category (e.g., Ripe Pu-erh). The porous clay "remembers" the tea, seasoning itself over time to enhance that specific flavor profile.

IV. Concierge, Shipping & Orders

Where does Teavra ship? We offer complimentary worldwide shipping. Every order is climate-controlled and dispatched from our reserves in Yunnan to ensure the tea reaches your sanctuary in its most pristine state.

How is my order prepared? To maintain the exceptional quality of our collection, all items are curated in a private mountain cellar. Please allow 3 to 7 business days for our team to carefully prepare and fulfill your order prior to shipment.

What is the estimated delivery timeline? Once dispatched, delivery typically takes 7 to 20 business days depending on your location. While we strive for precision, please allow for potential delays due to seasonal holidays or global logistics disruptions.

How can I track my selection? Upon shipment, a unique tracking ID and link will be sent to your email. You may also visit our Tracking Page. Please allow 1–3 business days for the initial tracking information to manifest.

What if I provided an incorrect address? Please contact us immediately at support@teavra.com. We will do our utmost to redirect your package, though we cannot guarantee changes once the fulfillment process is complete.

What is the Teavra return policy? Due to the artisanal and perishable nature of our harvests, we cannot accept returns on opened tea. For teaware concerns or damaged arrivals, please contact support@teavra.com within 7 days. We handle every inquiry with grace and precision.

Can I book a private consultation? Yes. For collectors seeking rare vintages or bespoke artisanal teaware, our Concierge is available for private consultation to help curate your personal collection.

V. The Ritual: A Guide to the Infusion

While each vintage arrives with specific instructions, the foundation of the Teavra ritual is the Gongfu style—using a high leaf-to-water ratio and multiple short infusions.

  1. The Temperature: Use 75°C–80°C for White/Green teas, 85°C–95°C for Oolongs, and 95°C–100°C for Black/Pu-erh.

  2. The Awakening (The Rinse): For Oolong and Pu-erh, perform a "flash rinse" with hot water and discard immediately to awaken the leaves.

  3. The Timing: Infusions are measured in seconds. Start with 15–20 seconds and add 5–10 seconds to each subsequent pour.

  4. The Vessel: Use a Gaiwan for fragrance-forward teas and a Zisha Teapot for those requiring deep heat retention.

Quick Reference Brewing Table

Tea Type Temperature First Steep Leaf Amount
White 80°C 20 Seconds 5g per 150ml
Green 75°C 15 Seconds 4g per 150ml
Oolong 90°C 20 Seconds 7g per 150ml
Black 95°C 15 Seconds 5g per 150ml
Pu-erh 100°C 10 Seconds 8g per 150ml
